When you're young you're told to go to school, get a degree and are subtly groomed to be a consumer. You're given credit cards with limits beyond your means, you're told material possessions will make you happy. The less means you have, the more this message is reinforced. Advertising tells you certain brands will make you more likeable, smarter and more fun if you wear them. And without realizing it, larges swaths of entire generations find themselves in their early 30's unhappy, in debt, bloated and working jobs they hate to pay for things they don't need. Over the last decade this discontent has made its way into various movements and social upheavals. How's the view from the cross? Oh, you were never told you're the sacrifice?
